@paulg Xioami, the Chinese EV car maker, has an ingenious marketing gimmick: You can get their cars personalized in any of scores of cool colors for free, but if you want a car in black or white you have to pay extra. Result is a brand known for its color.

I agree with that. Also, humans have an insatiable demand for energy. We will always want more energy than we currently have, particularly if it heads toward zero in costs. BTW, the assumption about unbounded demand for AI also assumes it heads to zero in cost. If ever increasing powers of AI cost ever increasing more money, demand could level off.
