Four years ago, a racist attack on a Buffalo community killed ten people, shot three more, and changed countless lives forever. Today, my heart is with the families of the victims, and with those who were injured.

Our nation must refuse to accept gun violence and white supremacy as normal, and our leaders have a responsibility to pass lifesaving, commonsense gun laws. I promise to always fight for a safer America, so that no community ever has to experience this pain and grief.

Four years ago today, a white supremacist shot and killed 10 people and injured 3 others at a Tops supermarket in Buffalo, NY. He specifically targeted the only supermarket in a predominantly Black neighborhood.

The gunman was armed with an AR-15 that he purchased with an easily removable magazine “lock,” allowing him to use multiple, deadly large-capacity magazines in the attack. And he was radicalized by the content he saw on social media, where he was also able to livestream the attack.

Today and always, our hearts are with the victims, survivors, and the entire Buffalo community as we work to honor them with action and hold bad actors accountable.

For all those questioning Sabres doing multiple anthems during the game, Sabres have respected their relationship with Canada even before they played their first game. They knew they needed Canada to draw fans into the arena. That's why it's spelled Sabres and not Sabers.

Before the @BuffaloBlade were born, there was another group of hooligans from South Buffalo who stole the zamboni from Cazenovia ice rink and drove down to the local bar with full hockey gear on. The police escorted them back to the rink . This runs through our blood (sometime in the 90s)
