@Real1_balogun You can get much longer PL highlights on the German Sky Sports YT channel. Usually 8-10 mins worth. Commentary in German is dreadful, but you see a lot more.
@PGPDP Wait till January.
Cologne station closing down entirely, (save for one S Bahn platform) for 10-14 days to renew the roof.
They reckon it's better to have 2 chaotic weeks and do the job in one go than fanny about doing bits and bobs for 9 months.
Quite right too, IMO.
@rebhalp@PGPDP It's organised chaos. Insanely busy station and I'd say over 90% of people arriving on foot, bus or Tram so so via the one front entrance. You can get around it very quickly though, once you're a little familiar with it.
@PGPDP Nobody taken by surprise. Both lines from D-K, left and right of the Rhine are being overhauled, long overdue.
S-Bahns are not running, so a lot of people are using RE and RB's instead if Bus Replacement Services. It's running quite OK when you realise the task they took on.
@OJ23s@God2Evolution@TraceyOMahony81 Western companies are taking advantage of Nigerian corruption.
But the issue here is 66 years of Nigerian theft and corruption since independence. All th3 way from Presidents and military rulers down to newest police recruits.
It's endemic and it's up to Nigerians to sort it.
@God2Evolution@TraceyOMahony81 If Nigeria got its act together and set up an organisation similar to Statoil in Norway, then the balance of trade would swing massively in their favour. But Nigeria, sad to say is a kleptocracy. And I gained that impression after visiting it 5 times.
So much potential, alas.
@suemcco11 Sorry, but I don't know a single person whose opposed to building a new prison.
Maybe have a few auditors and Quantity Surveyors employed to make sure we're not being screwed by the builders á la Children's Hospital. But we need a few thousand more prison beds urgently.
@Richard90850020@PaulC01929690 Can't take part in Asian games as there are a lot of protests and boycotts from Middle Eastern nations. Same with football.
@CahairOKane1 Was listening on the radio. Should have left the crowd noise on rather than blasting out 'Green and Red' straight away.
One of the loudest cheers ever heard in Croker I'd say.
@Foxy2012Fox@IrishRail Bikes are allowed on the InterCity trains. Used to catch the 18.10 to Mullingar (Sligo train) with my bike regularly a couple of years ago.
@AndyBTravels TGV every day. Best 1st class seat for work, sleep and rest in Europe. Bar none, IMO.
Yes, catering is poor, or non-existent, but it still beats ICE.
@MrPitbull07 Sorry, but he was absolutely HUGE in continental Europe. Hard to say how big he was. Until mid-80s and the rise of U2, easily Irelands best known Pop/Rock musician.
