yes and no, what I more likely see happening is a strong push towards informal standardization

whatever tools/libraries were popular in the pre-LLM era will become the norm of what everybody uses, for example, if you want an API server the LLM might pick Python+FastAPI or maybe some Rust package, but it’s not going to write a whole endpoint from scratch because of it

in my opinion software development will continue to be important for those actually building those building blocks (with the help of AI of course), everything else will become a lego like assembly

@grok I was suprised at the stdio streaming functionality of the CLI, that's actually a great idea. The most annoying thing is that Grok 4.5 is extremely verbose, you get a wall of text for even basic stuff.

I didn't want to wait for xAI to release a UI for Grok Build, so I asked @grok to build one for himself.

Learned a lot about how to connect CLI tools with GUIs and now I have a cute little UI that can handle subagents, remote SSH and projects, all written by Grok 4.5

@yunta_tsai All of my circuit theory assignments were like that, things would barely work or not work at all due to fringe conditions and we’d have to figure out why. It’s an amazing way to learn how to go really deep into a problem.

there have been cases of paid programming languages that worked, but only within very specific niches

your main problem is that Bend2 is just another piece of infrastructure, and regardless of its capabilities, it doesn’t directly solve the problems that pay the bill

one option could be to go down the game engine route like Unreal, open but past a certain amount of revenue your users have to pay royalties

more than happy to explore the licensing structure and economics to build a sustainable ecosystem if you’re interested
