Sorry to break it to all the @UMich haters and others jealous of UM’s academic and athletic success… But @umichbball payroll this year ranked #7 in the BigTen. Sure, $ helps. But coaching, culture, hard work, and intelligence matter more. #GoBlue#Leadersandbest
This might be a good time to remind everyone that Michigan was #42 in the country in fewest fouls per game. UConn was #243.
Say it with me: some teams foul more than others.
Good lord the constant tears over Michigan’s transfers are hilarious.
First, how else did you expect a top tier program to turn things around immediately after going 8-24 two years ago?
Second, if all of these guys were such obvious stars then why didn’t it work at their previous team?
This wasn’t just a team where money was thrown at guys. Yes they had to spend in the portal but they did an incredible job of identifying talents and personalities that fit together and then getting the most out of them to build one of the most cohesive and malleable teams in the country. There’s a lot of revisionist history going on with how most of these guys were viewed coming into the year.
Michigan's athletic department budget is one of the highest in the country.
It's men's basketball program spent just $14.4M, ranking 26th in the country, a fraction of UConn's $21.6M budget. But it was the Wolverines who cut the net down last night.

Congratulations to @CoachDustyMay, Elliot Cadeau, and @UMichBBall on winning their first title since 1989! This team dominated the tournament from start to finish. Well deserved. Go Blue!
@JetsPizza allowed me to order, THEN called to say no one was around to actually deliver - which is brutal, I thought that was your entire thing - but now I'm getting a pizza from @gosarpinos because their drivers are still working... interesting.
