JUST IN: The Auditor General's report on Samburu County is a masterclass in how public funds disappear in broad daylight.

The findings are staggering:

• 83 staff members were paid millions despite having no job descriptions on record. They literally got paid to exist.

• The Governor's Delivery Unit (GDU) hired 29 people without CPSB approval, without job advertisements, without interviews, and without any defined duties or place in the county structure.

The bill? Sh60.06 million.

When you read findings like these, you begin to understand why Governor Lati avoided appearing before the Senate for grilling.

If you knew your closet was this full of skeletons, would you willingly walk into a spotlight?

But here is the most heartbreaking psychological trick of it all: the absolute brainwashing of the local ground. You will find youth in Samburu defending this, saying, "Lati is our son, let him eat, at least the money is staying in the county."
