anyone else feel like they're burning tokens writing the same 6-paragraph prompt to Cursor/Claude Code every time just to get it to understand what they actually want?

what's your actual workflow for keeping prompts tight when using AI dev tools?
i've tried:

writing a CLAUDE.md once and never touching it (expensive baseline every session)
manually trimming before pasting
just not caring and paying the bill
what do you do?

sending a 500-token prompt when a 200-token one would've gotten the same output is basically just lighting money on fire
and yet every AI tool just... lets you do it
why is prompt quality still entirely on the user in 2026

how much are you spending per month on tokens?
asking because i ran the numbers on a small team and the waste from verbose prompts alone was insane. feels like a solved problem that nobody solved yet
