@_vixx It's way more like a meat eater going into a vegan restaurant and demanding they give them meat.
If the devs want to make their game difficult, that's for them to decide. You don't have some kind of RIGHT to be able to beat it. Give it your best and deal with it.
@mech_mouse @Elvick@virtuousBlossom@devolverdigital 2/2 This exclusivity exists because Epic wants fewer games on a service they've admitted they're incapable of competing with on even footing. It's not even about having games that incentivize Epic sales. It's about having games that can't be purchased on one other platform.
@mech_mouse @Elvick@virtuousBlossom@devolverdigital And no, it's not a basic business strategy at all. It's predatory and anti-consumer. Most exclusivity exists because publishers pay to develop first-party titles. Some of it exists because developers simply choose to create for one platform over others. 1/2
@mech_mouse @Elvick@virtuousBlossom@devolverdigital Except Epic isn't giving customers anything. Epic is forcing customers to use an objectively inferior service. Epic is giving them less for their money. How do you not see this?
And again, buying out someone else's game is not competition.
@devolverdigital Wow.
WOW.
Wow.
No sarcasm... I'm gobsmacked. The fact that Devolver would sign a deal like this with Epic...
Way to completely shit all over your own ideals, guys. Most prostitutes probably have more respect for themselves.
@WastingSanity@Grummz uPlay and Origin at not failed stores. Origin is the only place to buy EA games on PC (which is fine for first party titles), and uPlay often offers steeper discounts on Ubi titles. And Epic could compete handily if they offered a comparable service. But they don't.
@Grummz So what will people say when Valve lowers their take, only for this garbage to keep happening because it's actually not about the cut, but about the tens of millions of dollars Epic is throwing at pubs/devs to buy out these games?
@DjangoWexler@ChrisAvellone@SatisfactoryAF Epic is an objectively inferior platform. It has fewer features, it's owned by a notoriously shady company that has a habit of mining and selling user data, and when it comes right down to it... consumers should have a choice of where they want to purchase things.
