The PSA voters need to hear:
A law written by @LorenaSGonzalez allows voters ballots to be counted, even if mailed on Election Day.
But this law has been effectively killed for most of the state because of a change at the post office.
Srsly.

I almost hesitate to promote this, because it wasn't really intended to be a piece. I just sort of sat down and it came out. Maybe someone else out there has the same type of day today, and it'll speak to them.

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach.
The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.
Abuse of power in Congress is not new. But once the Me Too movement exploded in 2017, I along with Republican Congressman Bradley Byrne from Alabama reformed the process by which victims of sexual harassment and assault could be protected and the Member be held accountable.
I am deeply disturbed by the detailed allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell as reported in the San Francisco Chronicle. I am withdrawing my endorsement of his campaign for governor and believe he should end his campaign.

It was a personal honor to join @Caltrain today and unveil a new train bearing my name—a reflection of our joint efforts to electrify this corridor, cut emissions and connect communities across the Bay Area.
Our progress will serve San Francisco families for generations to come.
I’m honored and grateful to be running for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 15th District. I ask for your vote so I may continue to defend our democracy and build an economy that works for everyone. #CA15#SanMateoCounty#SanFrancisco

Despite an expected ridership drop in December, associated with the holidays and weather changes, total ridership was still up 45% compared to December 2024!
Thank you for choosing Caltrain!
NEW: One year after the Los Angeles firestorm, EVERY member of California’s congressional delegation — Democrat and Republican — just again called for federal disaster aid as survivors continue to wait for federal help to rebuild.
