Looking for other people in the hay industry to join me in contacting the following organizations to politically persuade the Minnesota Department of Transportation to allow the use of the annual Baled Farm Products permit and the Special Farm Products permit together to transport oversize and overweight loads of hay weighing 90,000 pounds with 6-axles and 97,000 pounds with 7-axles. This is a request for an Emergency Relief Provision relating to the droughts, fires, and high fuel costs.

The statutes for these permits both use the language "may issue" and currently the Minnesota Department of Transportation does not allow the combining or stacking of the two permits. This does not require legislation. It requires the Commissioner of Transportation to choose to do so.

These organizations know how to get this done. Please consider helping the industry. Thank you.
