They’re no substitute for an appointment with your provider, but these five actions can help get your blood moving.

Wildfire smoke is affecting air quality across North America and other regions worldwide. Impacts are expected to continue into next week.
Even moderate wildfire smoke exposure can increase cardiovascular risk.
A major 2026 JACC study of 65+ million older adults found:
• +7% ischemic heart disease
• +6% arrhythmias
• +4% overall cardiovascular disease
Working-age adults also face 3–8% higher heart risks.
☁️ A full day of heavy wildfire smoke (similar to recent urban smoke peaks) can deliver fine-particle exposure comparable to smoking ~10 cigarettes.
Protect yourself:
• Check your local AQI daily (AirNow, IQAir, WAQI, or your local air-quality service)
• Stay indoors when air quality is unhealthy
• Wear a well-fitting N95/KN95 outdoors
• Use a HEPA purifier indoors

Rheumatoid nodules are clusters of cells that form under your skin or in or near your organs. They’re a type of benign (noncancerous) tumor that develops in some people with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. It’s rare to need surgery to remove them. Your provider can suggest treatments if they don’t go away on their own.
