@KevorkJan I really like the phrase!
It forces those prone to making assumptions … to step away from lazy patterns of expectation so readily imposed on others
ie you “should” “can/cant” or “ought” to be/do/feel XYZ…
So they hear what the individual human has actually been thro 😊
Kindness in the NHS. Let us not forget ancillary staff. The ward orderly has gone down to the kitchen specially, unprompted . to get something that my mother might eat.Lovely of her.
Alan Milburn and his family have made a huge amount of money from the private health sector- @PeterKGeoghegan has written a v important article (link below!) about this.
If it concerns you that Wes Streeting intends to involve him in plans for the NHS, please retweet this!🚨💙
Am I the only person who groans on hearing 'lived experience'? Can anyone have an un-lived experience? Yes, I know it is a technical term in phenomenology but what is it doing in everyday speech?
Why are Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer so keen to involve more private companies in the NHS? They should be listening to what the public wants!
RT if you agree!💙
Over 8,000 GPs have signed our joint letter to the new Secretary of State @WesStreeting.
You have less than a week to add your name before we hand the letter in to @DHSCgovuk.
📣 English GPs, sign our letter today. ➡️ https://t.co/sASEnsrYPu
@cpeedell@wesstreeting You seem to be very negative about the plans that labour have, could you please give them a chance. We have waited 14 years to get a labour government and let’s get bethel instead of constant criticism.
Indeed a great paper, in many ways. Illustrates the many psycho & social forces that influence decisions - we can never eliminate them but we should learn how to mitigate them. The paper offers solutions but we need evidence for them.
Can we not allow the possibility that our physio & other colleagues can also be alert to differential diagnoses & hidden problems? I have seen great examples of physios doing that. Whoever attends patients first should be alert & ready to refer across.
Our NHS is broken.
Today, I’ve asked Lord Darzi, an NHS surgeon for 30 years, to lead an independent investigation into the true state of the health service.
The findings will provide the basis for our 10-year plan to get the NHS back on its feet.
@thismorning
With my mother in A&E, the Fast Initial Treatment FIT zone. 10.5 hrs & yet to be seen by Dr. @wesstreeting private sector will never solve this problem but worsen it by sucking away £££
Wes Streeting has had years to work out what’s wrong with the NHS, but now he’s in office apaprently needs consultants to tell him what he should already know https://t.co/CbXGu6nW3T Wes Streeting is hitting the ground by.....setting up a consultation on what's wrong with the NHS, headed by a peer whose ideas failed when he advised the last Labour government. Is that really the best he can do?
Have to disagree with you on this. There have been excellent analyses by authoritative bodies such as the King’s Fund. Make use of them. Rather like doing a Systematic Review rather than setting up yet another study.
@RichardJMurphy@drjawalsh We've had enough uninformed knee jerk populist reviews of the NHS.
Sorry, but I'd prefer someone to take a careful view now they have the resources to do so.
Take note, @wesstreeting Eye doctors say private cataract operations have hurt the NHS
Further privatisation will make things worse https://t.co/1nCEjjrqgW
