I know everybody says millennials don’t wanna grow up but I think we’re doing a good job of finding the middle ground of what adulthood can be. Because that overly serious shit is why all the prior generations are miserable and mean af. It’s why they pulled the ladder up behind them and left us standing in piles of shit.
Scientists told the New York Times that the flash flooding in Nepal/Tibet was likely caused by a 2,000-foot-wide chunk of ice that broke off of a glacier and fell around 4,000 feet to the valley below

It’s hard to imagine many people having a bigger impact than Dolly Parton. Born in a one-room cabin, she earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy, built a business empire, helped millions of kids learn to read, and — as if that wasn’t enough — helped accelerate the research that led to the Moderna COVID vaccine. What a life. Michelle and I are thinking of Dolly’s family and her many, many fans.
@Uchechukwu_Jeny the issue is that, like with flowers, music, and jewelry, once someone mentions the word "wedding" the price goes up by like 200%.
she's pissed because she would've charged her 3 times the price for a "wedding" dress.
Dolly Parton spent decades quietly funding band uniforms and instruments at Black high schools across the South - never once putting her name on it. No headlines, no fanfare — just help, given because it was needed.
Rhinestones on the outside, gold on the inside. 💛
A Jeju police officer was arrested today for deliberately shutting down missing-person cases — not one or two, but roughly 298 of them. He told families their loved ones were safe, then quietly deleted the cases from the missing-persons system.
The case cracked open because of Jang Mi-ran's disappearance, which turned out to expose a far larger cover-up.
Jang Mi-ran, 37, went missing on May 12.
Her boyfriend reported it, and the officer assigned to the case told him he'd reached her, that she was safe, and that she didn't want her location shared — then closed the file that same night. It later emerged there was no record police had ever actually contacted her.
Once the officer was identified and implicated, investigators went back through his past cases. Between August 22 and 24, they found four bodies of people who had been reported missing — Jang Mi-ran among them, found 104 days after she disappeared, just a few minutes' walk from where she'd been staying. The other three were men, two in their 60s and one in his 70s.
Since prosecutors' authority to conduct supplementary investigation was abolished, public anxiety has been mounting over how a single officer could kill hundreds of cases with almost no way for anyone to catch it.

When Dolly Parton lost the Oscar to Three Six Mafia, she sent them a letter congratulating them and saying she was proud they brought it home to Tennessee.
One of one. Never to be equaled.
imagine you’re out minding your business only for a random person to take multiple videos of you, post them online, and now people are either hypersexualizing you or calling you “sloppy.” all because you decided to go out for a morning jog in a larger body.
