NEW: Couple arrested in Florida after passing out drunk on the beach and losing their children.
Some people shouldn't reproduce.
Alyssia Langley and fiancé Timothy Stephens were arrested for child neglect, having alcohol on the beach and trying to escape the police after they were found passed out with no children in sight.
When the couple finally waked up, it became clear that they had no clue where their kids, 5 and 7, were.
After getting handcuffed, Stephens tried running from the police but was quickly stopped.
Luckily, the kids were later found at a hotel pool.
"It just boggles my mind that you would drive here and get obliterated and allow a 5- and a 7-year-old to wander off," said Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood.
"When we wonder what we see, why kids are the way they are, you gotta take a step back and look at who's in charge."
"And clearly, these two clowns shouldn't be in charge of... they can't be in charge of themselves, let alone a five-year-old or a seven-year-old."
NEW: Mother who left her 16-month-old daughter home alone while she went on a 10 day vacation sentenced to life in prison.
32-year-old Kristel Candelario left Detroit for vacation in Puerto Rico, leaving her daughter home alone.
The baby girl was found soiled with urine and feces in her playpen when Candelario finally returned.
The baby, Jailyn, died of starvation and dehydration.
When in court, Candelario tried being the victim and said she was suffering from depression.
"I’m extremely hurt about everything that happened. I am not trying to justify my actions, but nobody knew how much I was suffering and what I was going through."
Candelario was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Gregory, you’re correct, the children are our future. So why do you not give a damn that they’re dying in our schools.
Worry about keeping them safe and alive, not trying to defund public school for rich private schools.
