Ehsan Baloch, abducted along with Balach from Jiwani on January 22, 2026, by Pakistani forces, has been found dead.

His body was recovered today from Dannuk, Gwadar, along with the bodies of two other previously abducted persons.

In Killi Yar Muhammad Sonaro, Wadh, FC firing killed four civilians and injured several others, including seven year old Shahzaib. Four civilians are dead. A seven year old child has been shot. This is the human cost of military operations being imposed on Baloch communities in the name of security.

For Baloch people, this violence is neither new nor exceptional. Civilians are killed, people are forcibly disappeared, homes are raided, families are harassed, young men are arbitrarily detained, and entire communities are subjected to military force. Year after year, the same violence is repeated across Balochistan, while Baloch lives are treated as though they are expendable and entire populations can be punished for the actions of others.

How many Baloch civilians must be killed before this can no longer be called a “security operation”? How many children must be shot before their lives are considered worth protecting? How many families must lose their children before the violence inflicted on Baloch communities is treated with the horror it deserves?

Seven year old Shahzaib should never have been shot. Four civilians should not be dead. These are not acceptable costs of maintaining security. Baloch children cannot be made to grow up under guns, and Baloch civilians cannot continue to be killed, disappeared, detained and terrorised while their suffering is justified in the language of security.

There is no security in making an entire people fear for their lives.

These were not merely words spoken by father of the Nation Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti, they were a reflection of the courage he carried within him.

He knew that a man may be wounded, imprisoned, defeated, or even killed, but the spirit that refuses to surrender cannot be broken so easily. His bravery was not the absence of fear; it was the strength to stand firm despite knowing the price that might come with it.

His words still echo because they speak of a dignity that cannot be bought, a conscience that cannot be silenced, and a will that refuses to bow.

A back may break, a life may end but a spirit that stands for what it believes in can live far beyond its time.

Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the courage with which he refused to bow.

His departure left a wound in the heart of Balochistan, the pain of which is still felt today. His memory remains a symbol of courage, perseverance, and commitment to principles for the people even now. It is not just a date, but a reminder that without respecting the rights, dignity, and political voice of the people of Balochistan, lasting peace cannot be achieved. Balochistan belongs to the Baloch nation. Today, as we pay tribute to Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti, we pledge that his memory will not be limited to a single day. ایک ماہ سے جاری مسلسل ہراسانی کے بعد گزشتہ رات تقریباً ایک بجے قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں اور پولیس کے اہلکار، جو بائیس گاڑیوں میں سوار تھے اور جن کی تعداد تقریباً 60 سے 70 کے درمیان تھی، لیڈی پولیس اہلکاروں کے ہمراہ مجھے گرفتار کرنے کے لیے میرے گھر پہنچے۔

اس وقت میں گھر پر موجود نہیں تھی۔ اہلکاروں نے گھر کے دروازے توڑ کر زبردستی اندر داخل ہوئے اور تقریباً پانچ گھنٹے تک گھر کے اندر موجود رہے۔ اس دوران انہوں نے پورے گھر کی تلاشی لی اور گھر میں موجود تمام سامان، بشمول لیپ ٹاپ، کیمرے، موبائل فون، کتابیں، دستاویزات اور زیورات اپنے ساتھ لے گئے۔

اگر ان کا مقصد مجھے گرفتار کرنا تھا تو میری غیر موجودگی کا کنفرم کرنے کے باوجود میرے گھر کے دروازے توڑ کر داخل ہونے کی کیا مقصد تھا؟ میرے گھر میں موجود قیمتی اشیاء کو چوری کرنے، سامان کی توڑ پھوڑ کرنے اور ہمسائیوں کو تشدد اور ہراساں کرنے کا کیا مقصد تھا؟ کس قانون کے تحت یہ سب کچھ کیا جارہا ہے؟

میں متعدد بار یہ واضح کر چکی ہوں کہ اگر میرے خلاف کوئی مقدمہ ہے تو میں اسے قانونی فورمز پر سامنا کرنے کے لیے تیار ہوں۔ تاہم ایک پُرامن انسانی حقوق کے کارکن کے گھر پر رات کے اندھیرے میں دھاوا بولنا، ہمسایوں کو تشدد اور دھمکیوں کے ذریعے خوفزدہ کرنا، اور میرے خاندان کو ہراساں کرنا اس بات کی نشاندہی کرتا ہے کہ مقصد قانون کا نفاذ نہیں بلکہ مجھے اور میرے اہلِ خانہ کو ڈرانا اور خاموش کرانا ہے۔

میرے گھر کو پہنچنے والے تمام نقصان اور اس کارروائی کے نتائج کی ذمہ داری بغدادی پولیس، لیاری پولیس اور سندھ حکومت پر عائد ہوگی۔

PAKISTAN: Reacting to the life sentences given by Quetta’s Anti-Terrorism court to Baloch activists Mahrang Baloch and Sibghat Ullah Shah Jee on 22 June, Amnesty International said:

“This verdict, which is an affront to the right to a fair trial, demonstrates how Pakistan’s anti-terrorism laws are being cynically misused to silence peaceful dissent. The conviction and sentence followed an expedited secret trial conducted on jail premises, during which serious concerns were raised over international fair trial standards and due process.
