Good news: #Omicron’s spike protein still largely resembles that of the original strain, the symptoms are mild and current vaccines will likely protect against serious illness. https://t.co/S4eDS8VHSb
By supporting border closures, you’re OK with #strandedAussies, families & partners indefinitely separated from Australia; migration & job losses, killing arts & sports scenes and ending invaluable, life-changing cultural experiences from other countries & its people.
Anyone demanding border closures or other useless draconian measures in 92% adult vaxxed Australia to ‘protect us’ from Omicron is clearly a rampant anti-vaxxer.
To summarise: Scared of Omni = vaccine hater
.@WHO stands with #African nations & calls for borders to remain open.
As countries impose flight bans on southern African nations due to concerns over the new #OmicronVariant, WHO urges countries to follow science & health regulations. #COVID19 https://t.co/avUuOJok2b
Thousands of students have booked their flight tickets at exorbitant prices. And to now delay the reopening when December 1 is a day away, I hope we get hold of the reality that this country of our dreams isn't what we need in our lives. If this happens, #NotComingBackToAus.
IATA stands with @WHO and #African nations in calling for borders to remain open.
Governments need to follow global public health experts, million of lives and livelihoods depend on it. #COVID19#Omicron
All students stuck overseas should know that the Australian PM’s statement today includes all countries! For Japan and Korea it includes tourists as well. But if you have a student visa, or are applying for one to Australia, then the borders are open to every country from 1st Dec
Today’s the day! Singaporean tourists can now come to Australia while I and 1,500,00+ other Australian resident visa-holders still can’t leave to see family and then return to Oz. Thousands more remain trapped offshore.
Please retweet and help end this cruelty once and for all.
Weren’t borders supposed to be completely open when the country hits 90%? That is approximately on the 10 of December (+/-) a few days. So why are there capped flights coming in till next year? If @ScottMorrisonMP and feds can’t stick to the plan how will the premiers?
@PhilHoneywood Australian Universities have been busy grabbing money from the students. If they had advocated like American Universities, the situation would be different. Intl students have suffered enough, no one is buying this anymore. Remove the caps these pilots don’t make no sense
Good news from my home state of Victoria today. Like NSW they will now accept students with no quarantine required. First flight expected before Christmas with app 5 more flights coming in Jan, Feb. it’s a start BUT we need many more flights before Semester One. Come on Qsld, SA!
