Secondary school students are scared to go to school,
Farmers are scared to go to their farms,
Market women are scared to go to their markets and travel for business activities,
Many family men are scared to go on their businesses for the fear of being kidnapped.
It is where there is peace that the economy blossoms and flourishes. Dear Nigerians, we are on a very long ride. 😢 😭!!
We Plan, But the Almighty God is the Best of Planners
I had planned to appear at the High Court today to argue against an application for an injunction in a property development dispute. However, while getting set to leave the house, I received an SMS from the Court’s Registrar that the Court would not be sitting.
The SMS arrived on time (before 7 am) and enabled me to activate my Plan B for the day.
Kudos to the Courts and Registrars who send timely notifications to counsel whenever there’s a disruption to the Court’s schedule. These notifications make it easier for us to manage our time, energy and resources effectively.
One key lesson I have learned in my seventeen years of active courtroom practice is that you must always be prepared to execute your plans firmly while also being ready to switch gears when the need arises.
I wish all my Muslim friends Jumah Mubarak.
