@dizziedee Doomtrain is my outright favourite, but Diablos has *aura* (no not the spell, shh), the rock-paper-scissors in the Brothers animation is a lovely little vignette, Odin is badass, Phoenix can save your butt...

I could excuse someone being unable to pick a favourite, honestly 😂

@deon_lt For me it was... hmm.

Well, I played a lot of Spectrum games as a kid, or a few Master System games like Sonic. Sonic 1 on the MS is a strong contender for this.

But I think the one that sealed the deal was Crash Bandicoot. It was so colourful and the music was awesome :star

@deon_lt On the one hand, FTL is probably my highest-rated game on Steam. And it's cheap, only like £7?

On the other, I don't actually know if it will work on the Steam Deck.

@deon_lt I haven't seen all the leaks, but knowing Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright is being remastered is... good.

Not getting-AA7 good, but knowing **all** the Ace Attorneys + Ghost Trick will be on modern consoles/PC now is kinda nice?

Possibly my palico in Monster Hunter World? The ability to customize them really does make them more meaningful, and he saved my ass more than a few times :D

@jack_17th Card Mod is possibly the most broken ability in FF8. Not that I'm complaining, heh.

I think it's part of why everyone remembers Triple Triad fondly; it's a shortcut to getting super strong fairly quickly 😝

@Alyssandriaaa Discworld and The Wandering Inn would be my go-to recommendations, but no *real* romance in either series. (I mean you have some characters that are in relationships with each other, but it's rarely any kind of focus.)

Beware of Chicken seems good in a cozy way? Just started it.

@deon_lt Quite possibly Final Fantasy VIII.
Liberi Fatali is a classic, the transition of the feather flying up to the gunblade falling down was *electrifying*, the fight between Squall and Seifer was amazing... brilliant opening all round.

... shame my PS1 kept freezing during it...

@PRBG_Aesthetics I think it's a *very flawed game* - but I think it's still good fun, too. Its flaws add charm as much as take away from it 😉
Overall I'd say it's a little underrated?

(On an emulator I think, but I've since bought it on Steam.)

No nostalgia going into it and I still loved the game, can definitely get behind top 10. Great game all round.

I admit I'm a sucker for time travel anyway, lol, so that helps.
