We used this textbook, “Finance and Farm Management” during my undergraduate studies. At the time, it was called “Finance and Farmers”.

I think I speak for all South African agricultural economists in expressing deep gratitude to @StandardBankZA for supporting the book for over 40 years – the first edition was in 1981.

It is also deeply gratifying to be one of the contributors to the latest addition. The South African universities will now use this newest addition in their classes.

But the book is truly for all practitioners in the sector, not just students. The latest chapters we added also have a policy angle, further enriching the book.

Thanks to Prof Andre Louw and Dr Mariette Geyser, who led the project. We launched the book today at Standard Bank.
