@SheilahGashumba@ReachDrMuganga Sheila, before wading into specialised or technical topics such as law and constitutionalism always aim to read deeply to understand for instance in this case US law/constitution about NYC Mayor not to make ignorant statements or comparisons from an emotional point of view.
Bank of Uganda approves Stanchart, Absa transaction
The transaction transfers Standard Chartered’s entire retail client base and wealth management portfolio to Absa, along with all staff attached to those operations.
Combined with its existing 39 branches, 85 ATMs and 25 Cash Deposit Machines, the enlarged Absa Uganda is poised to offer the kind of scale and product breadth that can rival any competitor in the market

@Wassajja_Aiden@BarackObama@ReachDrMuganga 1. Barack Obama is a US citizen born on US soil, which is a legal requirement in US for one to be a president in the US.
2. US laws are different from Uganda's and the two are different countries
3. Find time and understand the difference
@Wassajja_Aiden@BarackObama@ReachDrMuganga Obama is American by birth, not naturalisation or other wise. There are many examples around the world of present and previous leaders who are constitutiinally barred from some roles over nationality (Henry Kissinger, NYC Mayor Mamdani etc. Inform yourself with facts. Not emotions.
About 16 yrs ago when I held a transition role in the energy sector under a World Bank funded hydro project at Bujagali, we engaged MPs. One MP, an OB now in the eye of a storm approached me.He said the engagements are ok.But without 2.5 Bn/= for them, briefings are meaningless!
Rwanda, a small country, has never recorded a single Ebola case.
Burundi, a small country, has never recorded a single Ebola case.
These countries border DRC in South Kivu where the current outbreak has been reported by the Western media and it is spreading fast.
In these two countries, the Banyamulenge cross freely between the DRC and these two countries.
The M23 rebels have complicated the epidemic by making the health systems in South Kivu dysfunctional.
In 1994, Rwanda had one of the most catastrophic human crises.
So, why are there no "Ebola cases" in these small countries?
Why can't America establish their quarantine centres in Rwanda or Burundi or Tanzania instead of Kenya?
@shaaka777 But there is alot of movement across the region (trade and commerce, M23 guerilla movement which we know happens all the time despite distance and infrastructure etc)
If Uganda martyrs lived today, they would be in a basement learning runyankore, safe houses, prison,General Court Martial, homes over run&relatives incarcerated, tortured,in exile or died a second time. They are 'lucky' this happened between 1886-87. Mwanga II didn't hide who he was!
@KiberuJimmy Thats how Uganda misses opportunities bse of the desire for bribes. Whatever happens at embassies of Uganda is so sickening. A potential investor approaches the embassy; inquires about the opportunities to invest in the country and all he is told is to offer something at hand.
