Iran didn’t become Islamic simply by choice. It happened because of early Western interference. Britain wanted their oil, which led to a coup: the 1953 Iranian coup d'état, known as Operation Boot and Operation Ajax.

British MI6 and the CIA overthrew Iran’s democratically elected leader, Mohammad Mosaddegh, simply because he sought to nationalise the country’s oil, which was controlled by a company serving American and British interests rather than the people of Iran.

The CIA paid men to act as instigators and incite violence on the streets of Iran, helping pave the way for the coup. Documents confirming U.S. and British involvement were declassified in 2013.

In the aftermath of this extreme Western destabilisation, many Iranians turned to extremist Islamic rule as a way to protect the country from further foreign influence.

If the West had left Iran alone from the start, maybe they wouldn’t have felt the need to go to such extremes.

If you read and understood history, you’d understand why so many in Iran resent the West, and honestly, you’d probably feel the same if someone did that to your country.
