My basic rules of football analysis.
Gonna pin this so I can just refer all further arguments here:
- Wins are not a QB stat. Losses, on the other hand, absolutely are.
- Win-loss record is the most important coaching stat.
- I don't care about Fantasy
8 members (many high ranking) of the 49ers scouting department were on hand for Oregon’s pro day.
This is unprecedented. This is the most I’ve seen them allocate for a single school.

If Mac Jones had Purdy's stats from last season, it would be the best season of his career.
He's much slower, much more prone to wild mistakes, and has a worse deep ball.
@TheRealMcKoy85@sportslarryk@DamonBruce Let me put it another way: if moving Purdy was really a good idea, why aren't we starting by talking about trading him?
Why does even the biggest skeptic think our best move is to pay Purdy at least 2 more seasons?
@TheRealMcKoy85@sportslarryk@DamonBruce QB franchise tags are usually worse than QB contracts for the cap.
The people we lost are high-profile enough that talking heads will predict regression, but were low-impact enough last season that we really shouldn't expect it.
He'll get more expensive if he looks solid.
Source: 49ers informed nine-time Pro-Bowl fullback Kyle Juszcyk tonight that he is being released. He is set to hit free agency and wants to continue playing.
The #49ers with a big addition: #Jaguars TE Luke Farrell has agreed to terms with @49ers on a 3-year contract worth up to $20.250M with $11M guaranteed, a deal done by @ihcsports.
Not necessarily saying he will get paid over $55 million a year.
But you could now give him Dak Prescott's exact contract, add $1 million to the yearly average, and have every party walk away from the table feeling like they won the negotiation
Nah. Allen got around $80-100 million more in guaranteed money than even the biggest Brock stan has ever claimed he should get.
Completely changes the conversation.
Been saying it for months: Purdy did not do well enough to reset the QB market, but he absolutely did well enough to deserve a top of market deal.
Nice to see the talking heads catching up.
Field Yates on Brock Purdy's pending contract extension:
"I'm not saying that Brock does not have leverage. The best leverage he has, he's an awesome player. I just don't know that it's a guarantee that Brock is going to sign a record-setting deal just because he is the latest quarterback to get paid."
