During the height of the pandemic MDs working overnight in ICUs (in physician or nursing support roles) were paid $450/h.
As per ONA contract, the hourly night shift premium for an RN is $2.88.
How can RNs feel valued when disparities like this exist?
Happy #NursingWeek! This year, to celebrate, we’re showcasing the projects our partnership has taken on along our journey to become an @RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization: https://t.co/zgLQTygUy5 #BPSO
It’s been an amazing #CPSW2021@MGHToronto where team members are nominated for patient safety behaviours throughout the organization. The race is on for which team will win the Patient Safety Cup 🏆🥇TY to @MGHFoundation & @HIROCGROUP for sponsoring our tokens of appreciation!
As many prepare for Father's Day tomorrow, I will be thinking about the sudden, tragic loss of @MGHToronto Respiratory Therapist, husband & father to 5, Patrick Houston.
A true pandemic hero, in the eye of the storm the past 15 months, he will be missed.

As we continue celebrating #NursingWeek2021, we're reflecting on the many ways our nurses "answer the call". Meet Michelle and Kiel – two MGH nurses who have gone above and beyond to answer the call and support patients during the #COVID19 pandemic: https://t.co/ZnLVuBmg6S
This is the 2nd & final week of 50% vaccine allocation to 114 hot zone postal codes.
#COVID has never been a Forest Hill, Lawrence Pk, Rosedale problem.
2 weeks isn't enough.
Let's continue to allocate vaccine supply preferentially to regions with the highest #COVID risk.
Ride share driver
Meat packer
Mechanic for public transit operator
All three were recently admitted to my ICU after acquiring #COVID on the job.
None had convenient access to vaccination.
Bring vaccines to workplaces.
Fully vaccinate those with high exposure risk on schedule.
In Wave 2 (Sept1- Feb28) we lost 36 #COVID ICU patients under 50yr or one every 5 days.
In the first 48 days of Wave 3 (Mar1-Apr18) we've lost 27 under 50yr, or one every 1.78 days.
Younger daycare workers, ride share drivers, factory workers... and their families, are dying.
