Lovely Perseid meteor show peaks 12/13 August. Reliable in recent years. Caused by tiny dust particles from comet burning up. Prospects are good. Use naked eye. Be patient. Look high in NE sky. Better later. Dark locations favoured! @NorthYorkMoors @Howardian_Hills @NlandNP

This is a rather cool image. A star blowing up in a relatively nearby galaxy. Even so news does not travel quickly over such vast distances. This happened over 20 million years ago, but only now can we see it! @GoStargazing
