60 days ago, I committed to writing one "My Son" post every morning.
On one hand, it was a way to share knowledge; on the other, a way to refine my storytelling. It's done exactly what I hoped it would, so Iโm officially pausing the daily commitment.
Iโll still be posting, just at a more natural pace. Thank you to everyone who engaged with the series.
Be blessed.
My son, a bank does not lend you money.
In the village, an impatient farmer roasts his unripe maize because he cannot endure the wait. He feasts for a single night, but when the harvest season arrives, he stands alone in an empty field.
When you take a loan to buy a car or fund a weekend, you are eating your own young crop.
You are not spending the bankโs wealth. The bank is simply providing the tools for you to steal from the old man you will one day become.
Be patient. Leave tomorrow's harvest in the soil.
Be blessed.
I keep seeing junior doctors make the same mistake: diagnosing diabetes without knowing the ADA criteria by heart.
If you remember just 4 numbers, youโll diagnose Diabetes Mellitus with much more confidence in the OPD, ER, wards, and even in your exams.
Ugandans, it is Deoxyribonucleic Acid ๐งฌ in Full (DNA) and it clearly should have been more than 4 for sure ๐ . But its men that are โdogs/stupidโ ๐
From Former Lord Mayor who was abducted, charged and now remanded to @NinyeTabz.
The cycle continues over and over again with some Ugandans looking and cheering this kind of behavior. Arenโt we angry enough?

Never ignore the pupils.
In critically ill patients, pupils often speak before the patient does.
A quick look into the eyes can reveal hypoxia, raised ICP, drug overdose, brain herniation, poisoning, stroke, or impending neurological collapse, sometimes within seconds.
Pupils are not just a routine examination finding.
They are a real time window into the brainstem and autonomic nervous system.
Some important clinical truths every doctor should remember ๐
