@EdKrassen What about the victims of slavery and their experiences being slaves under these presidential masters. Hell thomas jefferson had a slave who wanted to buy his own freedom and jefferson was basically appalled that the slave would want to be free and not stay at Monticello.
@EdKrassen Also what about alll the people who were abolitionist during the time of jefferson and Washington. What about the cognitive dissonance of writing all men are created equal but continually. Having to justify slavery religiously, then scientifically during enlightenment era.
@EdKrassen All of these men knew that slavery was a moral sin. Example Thomas Jefferson wrote "Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever" this shows an example of how people knew and also have internal battles with themselves.
@LeesWarhorse Bro he owned slaves which of course in common knowledge I hope. Ona Judge one of Washington's slaves ran away and he spent the rest of his life putting slave adds in the paper and more to get her back.
He also at his mount vernon estate had many enslaved people working there
