@joewheat27 Serious question: Is it normal for a teams play by play guy to jump up in excitement during a big play? Not saying it’s a bad thing, I’ve just never pictured an announcer doing that and it kinda surprised me. 😂
@cdshaw99@joewheat27 With no OU and UT, I see the B12 as wide open in ‘24. Fans should hope that a few teams rise to the level of dominant. If the B12 becomes a conference with a few really good teams but no real threat to win a playoff, they could be next on the chopping block 🤷🏼♂️
@jbings3@joewheat27 Teams won’t be gunning for Utah because of fan behavior on X. It’ll only be opposing fanbases who take playing Utah more personally. Whitt and co are hard nosed dudes playing hard nosed football. I don’t see a lot of talk coming from them. All of the hate is a social media ruse.
@GlassHalfUte There was an instant love affair between BYU and the remaining B12 members after they came onboard after the TX-OU exodus. Now, Y fans work overtime trying to paint Utah as a villain. I have ZERO doubts the narrative will change after these schools live with BYU for a few years.
@natevandy2@joewheat27 The mentality should be: Is LV more lucrative for the conference? Would it increase the exposure of our tourney? It’s further away, but would a destination city like LV draw more fans than KC? I’m not pretending to know all those answers, but they seem like reasonable questions.
@joewheat27 @GlassHalfUte 2- LV being further west than any conf. member is a non factor. Travel isn’t an issue as each team/fan base stays put as long as they win. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’d bet the farm that LV’s numbers would easily outdraw KC’s. Plus, Kansas fans would go to the moon to watch their team
@joewheat27 @GlassHalfUte 1- It’s not about catering to the newbies. Not even close. It’s about uniting your basketball product with one of the most desirable cities in the country when it comes to holding a multi-team tournament that features 16 programs and all of the fans that come along with it.
@byucougarcorner @Utesince84 @Brett_McMurphy@jatkins93@ActionNetworkHQ@SethDavisHoops Pt2- Just more of the “moving the goalposts” arguments that have become commonplace since they started losing the scoreboard argument OVER 2 DECADES AGO. It’s so boring and I CAN’T WAIT to play them every year in conference. Now it can be handled on the field, not on Twitter.
@byucougarcorner @Utesince84 @Brett_McMurphy@jatkins93@ActionNetworkHQ@SethDavisHoops Pt1-For 12 years, all we heard from BYU fan was how Utah was just a “throw in” addition to the PAC and just how insignificant our program was to that conference. Now, Y fans trip over themselves to blame Utah for blowing up the P12 and claim Utah has the ability to ruin the B12.
