Definitely a bad take. There is nothing fantastic about the Canadian healthcare system. If you need a specialist, many times it is 9-18months. Even something simple like a dermatologist. Ultrasound, hit or miss. The list goes on and on. We pay for it no matter how you spin it. If your family makes 150k a year together, you are paying somewhere in the ballpark of 10k a year minimum in taxes. The whole concept of free is so untrue.

It must be hard to come on national tv and try to make the argument that is funding healthcare for illegal immigrants isn’t the same as letting illegal immigrants get treated and the hospital reimbursing the cost, typically at sky high rates.

Charlie Kirk was more committed to peaceful, open dialogue with those who disagreed with him than anyone I know. God blessed him with immense gifts, and he used them boldly and without fear. I traveled the entire country with him last year, we spent 1x1 time together in Ohio two weeks ago, spoke to him again 2 days ago. Hate to break it to you but the Republican Party is willing to actually logically debate each other. They don’t need to have the exact same views and quite frankly, smart people accept that. The party you typically cheer for should learn a thing or two from this. This is a good thing.

So keep playing that out. His margins go down. The importer pays the tariff which is effectively the same price that the importer has been paying overall anyways. Money now shifted hands from the UK to the US with the importer spending the same.

The US then takes the tariff revenue from the UK and reduces income taxes.

This is just one scenario, haven’t even went over the doing business in the US scenario.
