@Jilliantweeting You’re a disgrace to the profession of psychiatry and you are the last person on Earth I can think of who deserves to be president of RANZCP. Get help
@LSchuwirth@andyteodorczuk@RANZCP@ProfJArcher@ProfTiffin In ‘our’practice? I’m sorry, what practice? Have you practiced? Certainly not psychiatry, your cluelessness in what it takes to train a good psychiatrist has been made painfully obvious. The only thing more embarrassing is @RANZCP@nickoconnor following you down the garden path

@psychwrite on Radiotherapy today, excellently representing the dissent amongst the masses regarding the crisis of psychiatric training and practice in this country. @RANZCP can no longer ignore, particularly given their embarrassing failures via AMC ⬇️
@jmslwlr@psychwrite@RANZCP And you’re basing this on what sorry? Come back and talk to us when you’ve worked a day in your life as a Psychiatrist. I’m a coordinator of training and let me assure you, completing FRANZCP a good psychiatrist does not necessarily make
This letter from @RANZCP 💀
So embarrassing.
Time for resignations.
BRING BACK CLINICAL EXAMINATIONS NOW.
Email your thoughts and feedback to [email protected]
In a medical specialty which arguably requires bedside manner the most, @ranzcp has discontinued the need for trainees to pass any objective clinical exams to become a psychiatrist, having scrapped the long-form interview exam years ago. Bleak. #psychtwitter#mentahealth
@ian_hickie@RACGP@Mark_Butler_MP @MelissaLDavey Your arrogance is breathtaking. You do not speak for the rest of us psychs. GPs are the backbone of the MH services, and all health services. We need to support them when they are under siege. @RANZCP let’s support our colleagues here please
Agreed. I work with the profoundly mentally ill and they are too often denied a voice by anti psychiatry zealots and supposed advocacy groups. The @RCMentalHealth ignored their needs and missed a huge opportunity. Let’s hope we see some focus at @ranzcp#ranzcp2022 conference
Lots of well meaning & helpful campaigns promote #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. I would really love to see mental ILLNESS receive the same efforts at awareness, understanding & removing stigma. Cancer campaigns don’t just promote normal cell division awareness. Give people a voice.
With staff shortages and pressure on the system, our psychiatric units are turning into war zones - we had a full blown riot last week. Govt need to protect the workforce and massively incentivise public work to retain staff - there is no back-up healthcare workforce!
On an RUOK Day when, let’s face it, most people aren’t, continue reaching out to others and supporting in any way you can. Get support for health issues early to avoid bigger problems developing. Celebrate GPs. Get vaccinated! @TheRMH#MentalHealthMatters#GetVaccinatedNow
If you're not ok, it's ok if you don't feel like completely sharing the details of what's going wrong. But telling someone, something, can make a difference. RMH Psychiatrist @KillianAshe gives some tips on how to open up when you're having a tough time.
@PatrickRaheny@theage Some Liberals/FB groups/anti-lockdowners/antivaxxers disingenuously spruiking worries about MH as a reason to campaign against lockdown and vaccinations. Highjacked the shadow pandemic concept. https://t.co/5tyJG6vqXr
“Striving towards the best vaccination numbers and keeping people safe from COVID is an awful necessity,” Ashe said. “But this mental health pandemic that’s coming with it is carrying more morbidity and mortality now, arguably, than actual COVID itself.”
To clarify,vaccination
@leighsales@MeljCunningham Faster vaccine roll-out will ease pressure on all aspects of health services. We also need more funding for mental health programs to help deal with pandemic stress and negative impacts @JamesMerlinoMP
Mental Health as some kind of excuse to cease protective restrictions or vaccinations is egregious and wrong. #VaccinesSaveLives both from covid and from MH sequelae of the status quo. Help get us out of lockdown by getting yourself and your family vaccinated #COVID19Vic@theage
Australasian Psychiatry Journal, how about getting more assertive in support of trans rights and access to health care? How about improving training for future psychiatrists so we never again have such a toxic force take such a dominant place in our profession? #transrights
The truth and the facts matter. They are worth fighting for. @michelle_telfer out there flying the flag for LGBTIQ rights including right to healthcare. @RANZCP, take note, instead of giving one of the worst offenders a platform for misinformation sharing in this month’s
