Can you help please 🐝🐝🐝by signing this Petition:
Stop the importation of honey bees into GB from the EU via Northern Ireland and the introduction of devastating pests and disease https://t.co/3U8xXIFtxE
Thankyou 🙏
@irish_news These packages hold 5000 plus bees each and it will be impossible to say they are free of hive beetle because they are very good at hiding!
Any risk is TOO great and will have devastating consequences for our already struggling honey bees.
🛑 Can you help?
The small hive beetle may be introduced to Ireland + UK
@BeeEquipmentLtd is intending to use a scandalous loop hole to import honey bee packages from Italy via Ireland. This will have a devastating impact on our honey bee populations.

Thoughts?
“It as self-evident that if the bees store honey for their own use, then honey is what they want + need. Sugar syrup is at best, a poor substitute. Therefore, we strive to leave enough honey in the hive for the bees’ winter feed.”

This little orange coloured plug of what looks like play dough, is actually pollen.
Forager bees collect it in pollen pockets on their rear legs and when they return to the hive, house bees remove it and store it for autumn and winter food 🧡
An artists palette 🎨
The colony’s are prepping for autumn and winter with lots of various pollens being brought into the hive. Often the pollen is packed at the bottom of the cells like this then topped up with honey🐝
