this launch video almost didnβt happen
we got rugged by a producer 2 weeks ago. i spent 3 days trying to make it myself with claude + ai tools. learned a lot, made some funny stuff, but it all felt like slop
then solana did what solana does
a friend connected me with a producer. we jumped on a call at 4am. i rewrote the script after a few hours of sleep. he turned it around in 3 hours
first draft was the final draft
no edits. no revisions. no ai
music from one solana friend. script concept from another
5 people. 5 countries. less than 24 hours
all for one cause: @solana
@liamdig Damn how times have changed. I remember when I first got started in the industry after the obligatory "so what do you do for work" it was immediately met with " oh, what is crypto exactly?"
Over two years ago I joined the Wormhole Foundation. Now I'm stepping back into the market.
What I'm looking for: Head of Communications, Head of Growth, or senior GTM leadership. Crypto or adjacent technology. A team building something technically serious, where the gap between what the product is and how it's understood is a problem worth solving full time. Open to a Head of Community role for the right team, if the scope matches what I've actually been doing.
A bit of context.
I've spent the last four years going all in on crypto. Osmosis, then Evmos, then Wormhole. I've never been someone who does things halfway. Whatever I commit to gets all of me.
@wormhole was the biggest chapter. Building alongside @danreecer_ and @robinson , two of the sharpest operators I know. Together we shipped a TGE that became one of the most successful of 2024, grew the community from 75K to over 1M, built teams from scratch, ran crisis comms through tough times, and scaled an international Fellowship across seven countries. I'm still proud of what we shipped.
Early on, @osmosis, where I first got to work with @RoboMcGobo, who set the bar early for what good looks like in this space.
I came into comms from engineering, and I never stopped thinking like an engineer. Community isn't a vibe to me, it's a system. I spend my time finding where funnels actually break, building engagement that doesn't need a human holding it up, and turning cross-chain tech into language engineers and investors both believe.
Mostly I just want to make something that matters, with people worth doing it with.
If that sounds like you, or someone you know, let's talk.
DMs open.
@itszach I always lead by asking about the team and culture. I could be doing the most boring job on the planet and be genuinely enthusiastic about it with the right culture and team.
Believe in visions, teams and collective ideology. Not individual projects.
Have you ever seen a skinny farmer?
As somebody who did get a chance to grow up extremely rural where farmers markets and butchers were the grocery default, there were plenty of obese people. It's hard to get less processed than farm to table.
I'm not saying that processed food is necessarily healthy. But at least in the US South food staples are fried, covered in gravy, or bread based followed by a pie or cake.
This isn't even mentioning Southern sweet tea as the default drink.
Oddly enough the processed pizza and diet Coke is likely more healthy than say a scratch made chicken fried steak dinner with tea.
In all cases, technologies that solved real problems lived on. The problem in Web3 is there's a lot of solutions looking for a problem.
Solving real problems, impacting and helping real people, those are the ones who will live. Hype trains talking about theoretical what if solutions won't. And that's okay.
Almost everybody agrees our educational system needs to change. Though, I'd caution getting rid of the sciences.
The list you've provided teaches kids so much more than how to identify rocks or what the mitochondria is. Science in school largely teaches kids how to ask questions, that it's encouraged to be curious and how to investigate and solve problems.
Where we've largely gone wrong is teaching kids how to test instead of how to learn. Replacing calculus with economics won't help if we keep the same system that encourages test scores over actual growth.
@RoboMcGobo@cosmoslabs_io Cosmos has always been your home in one way or another. You've continued to be part of the glue holding it together.
I'm sure you'll do well in this new role.
