Thank you @OPSChiefSloly for your comments about mental health response and @OttawaPolice You are correct. We cannot eliminate Police from all mh responses. I believe a mobile 24/7 MH Response/Outreach Team could work but needs to be in collaboration with Police Services.
Correct. We can do it without reinventing the wheel. There are successful programs such as @cahoots_wbc in Oregon, @reachout_to, Edmonton 24/7 Crisis Diversion Teams, as well as Teams in Houston, Denver, Stockholm, &more. We can combine Outreach with Mental Health Response.
Today Ill wake up in a warm house I own with my kids across the hall/closeby.We'll put on clean clothes. We'll make meals, use appliances,&water to clean up before we start work. All are possible because we're free.
Thanks, Lest We Forget & We Will Remember Them don't seem enough

We are having an emergency Zoom call tomorrow at 7:00pm to discuss what w those of us in Ottawa can do to stand up against this attack on local democracy by the Ford Government. Please get in touch if you're interested in coming! #onpoli#ottpoli#ottcity
Such an incredible experience the past 2 summers. If you want to know a city, work with their most vulnerable. With our nursing homes, people with disabilities/addictions/mental health issues, and street involved people, Ottawa needs to step it up.
Today is the end of another season of paid Street Outreach for me. Ive had 2 great work partners, 3 good supervisors, & 100s of incredible social interactions with street involved people. I will definitely miss it but Ill still be around at Centre 454, The Well, & St Lukes Table.
Do you ever wonder what happens to those who have unsuccessful runs for #Ottawa city council? Some of us are still around trying to make our city better in different ways. I work Street Outreach, in a soup kitchen, in addiction treatment centres, & Im finishing up my SSW diploma.
Election compliance audit committee recommends the city hire a prosecutor to start legal proceedings against 2018 Osgoode ward candidate Jay Tysick over alleged election finance violation. #ottpoli
