For every child lost to a school shooting, there is a room that’s left behind. Eerily quiet. Tragically brimming with personality. And frozen in time.

For the past six years, CBS News’ @SteveHartmanCBS has been traveling the country with photographer Lou Bopp, going into some of these rooms and photographing them.

The heartbroken parents who opened their doors to us say people constantly tell them that they can’t imagine what they’re going through. But they say people need to imagine.
