I think the majority of counties in Co have open carry. I have a CCW so I carry concealed.

I grew up around shot guns & duck hunting.
I actually carried around the house one of the blue training guns because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to carry.
Time, & practice. It helps if you have someone who you can lean into for support if moving to handguns.

I am a female that has a CCW, my suggestion would be to do the course before August 1st
The new law for Colorado starts August 1st, the course is longer - I think 2 days and it costs more money, and I believe you have to take a test as well.
Just some information for you.
I have been a CcW carrier now for 10 years in Co. I never leave home without it now.
Spray is good, and dogs are great. However, it said that the man had a gun, which always increases the risk for the victim to respond.
