Hello! My book, 'Staging Britain's Past: Pre-Roman Britain in Early Modern Drama' will be published by the wonderful @Ardenpublisher on 8 April! Thanks to my editors @lisahopkinsshu and Douglas Bruster, and to everyone who's helped and supported. https://t.co/WndKt3O6ub
Slightly shy about posting this. But I took on Sir Jonathan Bate in the Scotsman this week. I love some of his critical writing, but he’s wrong when he says that state school students have lost the ability to read long books.
They just need adaptable, realistic curricula.
@callanjd @GreenWill92 Still checking into Xitter occasionally!
There of Jacobean plays - lost and extant - from those histories. There’s a list in my book (DM if you’d like the list), but @felicityebrown is the expert on the Arthurian side of things.
Huge thanks to @KimGilchrist for a fascinating webinar yesterday, beautifully linking characters from medieval and pre-medieval Romance genre with their appearances in Early Modern Drama, discussing the Catholic/Protestant perceptions..& so much more!

@ucu Please don't do this again
Poorly framed, double-barrelled single question, merging both disputes, when post-92s are not affected by USS
In another narrow 48-hr *strike* period when those who have work email as contact address, aren't accessing work emails 🤦🏽♀️

Thank you! After reading Whitman, Anne moved her family to Philadeliphia. They became friends (but not perhaps in the way she hoped). There's a book about her by Marion Alcaro, and an article I just found (and haven't yet read!) about the friendship: https://t.co/o4uSR68diH
@preraphsrule @LearNonsense Thanks, Sara! Yes, my great-times-3 grandfather. Great to see Anne getting credit. She was extraordinarily (my mum’s named after her). After Alexander died, she had many adventures: https://t.co/tDTqTl0UQt This portrait was made by their son, Herbert.
