Manipur : Mr Lenminsang, son of Kolchung village chief and innocent Kuki civiliain was killed by @crpfindia COBRA commandos this morning following their unprovoked attacked on Songkong Henglep Sub-dividion yesterday.

Reports confirm his body was removed from the scene and remains missing, yet his clothes bearing visible bullet marks were left behind. This deliberate removal and concealment to stage a Fake Encounter has caused widespread outrage and fear among the community. Given the seriousness of these allegations, we demand a prompt, impartial, and independent inquiry. All security personnel responsible, regardless of rank, must be held accountable under the law.

Today in Leilon Vaiphei, a Kuki ancestral village, innocent Kuki Village Volunteers were reportedly searched and repeatedly fired upon. Kuki civilian women were also reportedly fired upon, forcing many civilians to flee in fear. Several houses and gates were allegedly broken open using knives, guns, and other means during the operation, creating fear and panic among innocent villagers.

Meanwhile, Konsaram Khullen and other Liangmai villages were allegedly ignored despite the continued activities of NSCN-IM, ZUF-K, Kamson Group and others who have been involved in attacks against Kuki ancestral villages. The Kuki Community questions why full-scale operations are not conducted against those responsible for such attacks.

Whenever Central Forces move in certain areas, Tangkhul women, Liangmai women, and Meira Paibis reportedly block their movements, yet no action is taken. Is the COBRA Team and Central Forces only strong when targeting Kuki civilians in Leilon Vaiphei and surrounding areas of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts?

The manner in which the Central Forces and BJP Government have treated the Kuki Community is deeply shocking. When Junta Military, Shan National Army, NSCN Eastern Flank and other armed groups allegedly burn down Kuki ancestral villages along the border, there is little visible response from the Government and security agencies.

We, the Kuki Community, demand justice and equal treatment. The way COBRA Team and Central Forces have treated our people is seen as treating the Kuki Community like a terrorist group. We demand strict action against those responsible and call for fairness, accountability, and protection of innocent civilians.

04/KIM/PR/25-50: The Kuki Inpi Manipur strongly condemns the unacceptable and deeply disturbing actions of the Central Security Forces in Leilon Vaiphei and its adjoining villages, where security personnel stormed the village, imposed a military-style lockdown, searched every house, and shouted at villagers, including women, children, students, and the elderly.

This action is not only insensitive and unjustified, but a grave insult to the suffering of the people of Leilon Vaiphei. The same village had been attacked only a day earlier by the NSCN-IM, leaving three innocent Kuki-Zo students critically injured and still undergoing medical treatment. At a time when the villagers are traumatised, grieving, and living in fear, the Central Security Forces chose to treat the victims as suspects instead of protecting them from the perpetrators.

We ask the Government of India and the authorities concerned: Why are operations being carried out with such force and intimidation in Kuki-Zo areas that have just suffered an armed attack? Why are innocent villagers being locked down, harassed, and humiliated, while the areas where NSCN-IM and its proxy groups are known to operate freely remain untouched? Why is the Government turning a blind eye to one side while acting harshly upon the actual victims?

The people of Leilon Vaiphei and adjoining villages are not criminals. They are victims of armed aggression. To subject them to military lockdown, house-to-house searches, intimidation, and verbal abuse immediately after a violent attack is unacceptable under any circumstances. Such actions deepen the wounds of the victims, create fear among civilians, and destroy whatever little trust remains between the people and the security forces.

The harassment of women, children, the elderly, and traumatised villagers cannot be justified in the name of security. Security operations must never become collective punishment. The rule of law must be applied equally to all citizens and all communities. If the Government is truly committed to peace and justice, it must act against the real perpetrators of violence, not against the people who have already suffered from it.

The authorities must ensure that such intimidation and harassment of innocent civilians is stopped at once. The Government must also take immediate and concrete action against the NSCN-IM and its proxies responsible for the attack, and ensure justice for the three injured Kuki-Zo students and the affected villagers.

We reiterate that peace cannot be built through selective action, intimidation, or double standards. The Government must protect all citizens equally, uphold the rule of law without bias, and stop treating the Kuki people as targets while allowing armed aggressors to operate with impunity.

The Kuki-Zo people will not accept any action that punishes victims while shielding perpetrators.

I would like to draw attention to a deeply disturbing trend currently unfolding across social media platforms regarding Manipur.

Over the past few days, numerous posts, graphics, edited images, and inflammatory captions have been circulated online by like-minded, hate-mongering Naga accounts from Manipur, alleging that Kukis fed HUMAN FLESH 🥩to hostages.

These are among the most shocking accusations one can make against any community. Yet, they are being deliberately and widely shared with zero evidence, verification, or regard for the real-world consequences.
What is even more concerning is the calculated effort by these accounts to sensationalize these baseless claims through the emotionally manipulative use of Al-generated imagery, speculative narratives, and graphic insinuations designed to provoke outrage.
This is not merely an online campaign for engagement or views; it is a deliberate attempt designed to permanently tarnish the reputation of the entire Kuki-Zo community of Manipur.
The most troubling aspect of this phenomenon is that the people spreading these false narratives know exactly what they are doing. They know that outrage spreads faster than facts. They know that shocking accusations attract attention, and that once a lie gains momentum, corrections rarely travel as far as the original falsehood.
They know that once a community is portrayed as barbaric, inhuman, or monstrous, it becomes much easier to normalize hatred, justify discrimination, and incite hostility against them.

History has repeatedly shown that dehumanization is often the first step toward persecution.

As a quick reminder, the Kuki-Zo community went through similar damaging experiences due to disinformation spread by Meiteis in May 2023. This included the widespread circulation of false claims alleging that 40 Meitei medical students had been raped and killed in Churachandpur using wrong imagery from other parts of the country.Those allegations spread rapidly online, inflamed public sentiment, and led to devastating consequences. As a result, hundreds of Kuki-Zo lives were lost in Imphal, communities were displaced, and deep wounds were inflicted that remain unhealed to this day.

That is precisely why misinformation and sensationalized allegations should concern everyone. Once rumors are allowed to replace facts and outrage replaces verification, the damage extends far beyond social media platforms, leaving lasting scars that remain long after the posts disappear.
In an age where a single post can reach thousands within minutes at the touch of a button, the responsibility to verify information before sharing it has never been more critical. Rumors, manipulated content, and unverified allegations must be approached with strict critical thinking.

Ask yourself this honestly..

Why should anyone or community be expected to endure such disturbing allegations, fueled merely by "AI representative images" without proof, while the rest of the world simply watches and scrolls past?

The Kuki Students’ Organization, Sadar Hills , strongly condemns the open justification of hostage-taking by the Tahamzam Youth Forum under the pretext of “retaliation.” No organisation has the authority to abduct and detain innocent civilians. Hostage-taking is criminal, unlawful, and barbaric.

KSO-Sadar Hills notes that ZUF and sections of the Zeliangrong community have repeatedly declared their neutrality and refusal to be dragged into the violence engineered by Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM terrorists. This clearly reflects their desire for peaceful coexistence rather than submission to militant intimidation and expansionist politics.

For decades, the Zeliangrong community has been politically manipulated and militarily exploited under the hollow agenda of “Nagalim for Christ.” The Tangkhul-led NSCN-IM has used smaller communities as pawns to sustain its violent and divisive ambitions across Manipur.

Every peace-loving community must remain vigilant against the dangerous expansionist designs of NSCN-IM. It must be stated openly that NSCN-IM has been one of the principal instigators behind the prolonged violence and mistrust between Kukis and Meiteis.

This is no longer the 1990s. No community should allow itself to be dragged into conflict or sacrificed for the political ambitions of NSCN-IM terrorists.

KSO-Sadar Hills unequivocally supports the ultimatum issued by Kuki Inpi Manipur demanding the unconditional release of all Kuki hostages by 5:00 AM on 15th May 2026.

The Government and security agencies must act immediately. Any failure to secure the release of the hostages will amount to a complete failure of responsibility.

Bangalore : A 23-year-old domestic worker from the Northeast, Manipur has reportedly been severely abused at an @IIM_Bangalore professor's campus residence.

Working since 2019, she faced physical assault, 18+ hour workdays, denied food/medicine, phone confiscation, and confinement. She was rescued on 4th May 2026 after seeking help from a neighbor. An FIR was filed at Mico Layout Police Station on 6th May 2026 against Prof.Amar Sapra and wife Anshu Ahuja Sapra under BNS 2023, yet no action has been taken against them.
