On Dec 22, 2025, we set up a kitchen garden for a household in Nairobi 🌱
Just 23 days later (Jan 13, 2026), they’re already enjoying fresh, safe, organically grown vegetables 🍓🥬🥗
This is the impact that keeps us going.
This can be YOU. What are you waiting for?

Tupo site apa @KisumuCountyKE with @aphrc and @KisumuKiya, engaging leaders of community-organized groups and local champions on impactful storytelling for sustainable change.
Our goal is to strengthen their capacity to curate and package community stories and pressing issues in compelling ways that resonate with leaders and policymakers — ultimately influencing positive, lasting change.
This initiative is part of the AfriFOODlinks project, set against the backdrop of challenges like frequent flooding in Nyalenda area, which sometimes devastates the school farms we've established and displaces families. Addressing these issues requires a multi-stakeholder approach.
At the same time, we're empowering communities to highlight the positive — such as the school farms that support local feeding programs — ensuring that these success stories are seen, heard, and used to inspire broader action.
NCDs menace has been a ticking time bomb and the impacts are here with us!🤒
"It has become hard to escape unhealthy food in the country. There are posters everywhere. In supermarkets, on bus stops and billboards, full colour displays of mouthwatering deals for fizzy drinks🍨🍻, burgers🍔, pizzas🍕, fried chicken🍗, you name it, catch your attention."
This statement is drawing our attention to the need for a lot of sensitization on food and nutrition and how we can make our indigenous foods 🥗🌿🥬🫘🫚attractive to consumers as well. It's time to pause, reflect and go back to our roots!
Through projects we are undertaking @city_shamba, we link 🔗our food systems to nutrition. We conduct public engagements, dialogues and trainings targeting NCD patients, youth, women and students on the nexus between our food systems and nutrition and how they impact each other.

In 2023, Gregory Kimani was crowned the Kenya Food Systems Leadership Award Winner. This is through his urban farming initiative, @city_shamba, that presents a solution to the war against hunger and malnutrition by reaching youth and women groups within urban areas.
Exciting news! We have hit the ground running, literally, at Ruthimitu Primary School in Dagoretti South constituency, Nairobi, in our continued partnership with the @National_Bank.

Banking on The Farm: Exciting Update!
We officially lauched our new farm installation at the @pumumaternity with the CEO, Ms Christine Ketishuo and National Bank of Kenya, @National_Bank Director of Marketing, Corporate Digital Communication and Sustainability, Ms Bernadette Ngara and our team.
The garden is already growing fresh produce (vegetables) to boost patient nutrition, aiding in the recovery for new moms.
This partnership opens the door to an exciting new chapter, establishment of gardens in public schools and hospitals, transforming them into #FoodForests for better health, #OrganicFarming knowledge transfer, and sustainability through #GrowYourOwn and #AgroEcology
Farming organically vs conventionally is like bodybuilding naturally vs on steroids.
(At first, both look strong. But only one stays that way.)
Let me explain...
