250 mcg is being added to every 100g of flour.
188 mcg remains after baking.
Gov limit for over 50s is 200 mcg.
That means your daily flour limit will be 106g of flour.
You would need to eat one sandwich 80-90g.
A regular sandwich made of 80–90 g of bread (50-60g of flour) could use up roughly half that allowance (94-113 mcg).
If you eat that sandwich, here's what else you would need to watch:
Breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid
Toast, crumpets, muffins and croissants
Biscuits, cakes and pastries
Pizza, pasta and noodles made with fortified flour
Pies, pasties and sausage rolls
Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and gravy containing fortified flour
Any vitamin supplements containing folic acid
And that's before you've counted any other sources of folic acid.

A reminder an HGV driver wrote to me. He delivers live animals to abattoirs & describes the places as sadistic, vile & depraved cruelty. Halal slaughter should be banned immediately.
"David I need to remain anonymous to keep my job as I work for a large multinational that are very PC/woke and me getting involved in any sort of discussion like this would cost me my job.
"I’ve worked previously as a HGV driver delivering livestock to slaughterhouses. In the build up to Ramadan the company I worked for made sheep deliveries to halal slaughterhouses up and down the country.
"We’d always deliver after dark and the loading bays would be full of Muslim men and boys who’d come to choose their sheep. They’d be climbing up the outside of the trailer to get a look in and try pick which one they wanted. They’d be shouting and screaming whilst banging on the trailer to try get the sheep to move around.
"Drivers would always do their best to try stop them as the animals are still in their care whilst on the vehicle. Once the trailer door was open the men would be jumping in the trailers trying to grab their sheep and mark it. We’d often end up physically removing the men and a few times it ended up in fists flying.
"Once the sheep had been herded into the slaughterhouse pens the real barbarism would begin. After waiting hours and hours with no access to water the Sheep were punched and kicked by the men and boys and forced onto the waiting line to be slaughtered. The whole place is absolute chaos with people screaming and shouting and the sound of dying animals.
"Once they reached the front of the queue there’d be an imam sat there reciting prayers as the slaughter man grabbed the animal by the head, spun it round and slit its throat. It would then be hung upside down on an overhead hook conveyor and transported for butchering as it was still bleeding and writhing around in agony.
"It’s not an instant death by any means. The supposed “vet” whose job is to maintain welfare standards is nearly always a friend of the owners and is also Muslim who’s paid and simply turns a blind eye. The whole place is a complete blood bath. Zero welfare standards, zero compassion.
"In comparison we used to deliver pigs to slaughterhouses and the welfare levels are immense. Animals were herded without any physical contact at all, if you so much as touched an animal the vet would have you and your company banned from the site immediately and reported to the relevant authorities too.
"The animals are slaughtered with a single bolt to the back of the head. It’s instant and pain free.
"I just thought I’d give some inside information as to what goes on.
"Halal meat is vile and it needs to be banned."

The man who led Serco when it won asylum-accommodation contracts estimated at £1.9 BILLION now sits on the board of the Home Office, the department that awarded them.
Rupert Soames was Serco CEO from May 2014 to December 2022.
In 2019, Serco won two ten-year asylum accommodation and support contracts covering the North West and Midlands & East of England.
Soames described them as “the largest contracts by value ever awarded to Serco”.
In June 2026, he joined the Home Office. It now lists him as its LEAD non-executive director.
The department says its board steers and scrutinises its strategy, performance and capability. Serco remains an asylum-accommodation contractor.
The former contractor chief now helps scrutinise the customer.
How is the Home Office managing any potential conflicts of interest on Serco-related matters? Is he excluded from those discussions?
£1.9bn was Serco’s original estimated ten-year contract value, not money already spent.
🚨🚨 SCANDAL: "Anthony Fauci illegally experimented on orphaned children"... "He buried their bodies in an unmarked mass grave to cover it up"....
"Fauci made sure none of those children had guardians, which is illegal, and then hid from the boards what he was doing. He took in foster homes across six states and handed them over to the pharmaceutical industry"...
"He made sure the people running those foster homes didn't even have medical training. Most of them were immigrants from the Dominican Republic. They knew nothing about medicine or responsibilities and were sick themselves"...
"And little by little they realized what was being done to those children, that they were torturing them. And, you know, there are videos of those children, an old BBC documentary that'll make you cry".
"I promise you can watch this without crying. One of these kids, 12 years old, is trying to protect an 8-year-old boy and has a tube in his stomach. And he says to them: 'I tried to fight them' and that's what they do"...
"If you fight them, you can't fight them. You just have to take the medications, and the kids didn't want to take them because they were making them terribly sick. And Celia Farber was this incredible investigator who worked on this chapter for me and did a lot of the original research on it"...
"She went to Hawthorne, New York, to the Gates of Heaven cemetery. She found the cemetery where Fauci was disposing of the bodies of these children who died in his illegal experiments"...
"She found an open pit, covered by a carpet of artificial grass. She pulled back the carpet and saw hundreds and hundreds of little coffins stacked haphazardly on top of each other, because they were children with no parents and no one there to protect them"...
"And Tony Fauci treated them like collateral damage and, you know, his goal was to expand markets for these pharmaceutical companies he'd partnered with by allowing toxic chemotherapy drugs against HIV to be administered to the children"...
"And then the next experiments, which are in the following chapter and are equally horrific, are his experiments in Africa"...

THE GOVERNMENT SAYS YOU WILL STILL HAVE A “CHOICE” OVER FOLIC ACID. SO EXPLAIN THIS.
From 13 December 2026, folic acid is to be compulsorily added to non-wholemeal common wheat flour in the UK at 250 micrograms per 100g of flour.
One of the government’s answers to people who don’t want to consume added folic acid is that they will still have a choice.
Their own consultation response says:
“individuals are able to avoid fortified flour if that is their choice.”
How?
The government says people can choose unfortified wholemeal flour and other non-wheat products instead.
Fine.
So I went shopping and deliberately bought Tesco Finest Sliced Wholemeal Bread.
Not white bread.
Not brown bread.
WHOLEMEAL BREAD.
Now look at the ingredients on the packet.
The first ingredient is indeed:
Wholemeal Wheat Flour
But further down the ingredients is this:
Wheat Flour [Wheat Flour, Calcium, Folic Acid, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin]
So the “wholemeal bread” I deliberately selected already contains FOLIC ACID.
That makes the government’s argument about consumer choice look considerably less straightforward than “just choose wholemeal”.
And there is an even stranger question.
Current government guidance on the Bread and Flour Regulations states:
“the word ‘wholemeal’ is only allowed in the name of the bread when all of the flour used as an ingredient is wholemeal.”
It goes on to say that a combination of wholemeal and white flour “must not be named ‘wholemeal bread’”.
Yet here I am holding a packet which says:
“Sliced wholemeal bread”
while the ingredients appear to identify both “Wholemeal Wheat Flour” and a separate “Wheat Flour” containing folic acid.
Perhaps Tesco has a technical explanation for this particular ingredient and its classification. I’d certainly like to hear it.
But put the labelling issue to one side for a moment, because the wider point matters.
The government has chosen a population-wide fortification policy The government’s response was that people would still be able to avoid fortified flour by consuming unfortified wholemeal flour and other products.
But how meaningful is that “choice” for an ordinary shopper?
Apparently it isn’t enough to walk into a supermarket and think:
“I don’t want added folic acid, so I’ll buy wholemeal bread.”
You need to turn over every packet, put your glasses on and inspect every flour ingredient to see whether folic acid has been added somewhere in the product.
And this isn’t just about loaves of bread.
Non-wholemeal wheat flour is used throughout the food supply: cakes, biscuits, pastries, pies, pizza bases, breadcrumbs, breaded chicken and fish, batter, sauces and countless processed foods.
The government itself says the folic acid must appear in the ingredients list of pre-packed products containing the affected flour.
In other words, the burden of exercising this supposed “choice” is being placed on the consumer.
I’m not arguing here about whether pregnant women should take folic acid. We already know why folic acid before and during early pregnancy is recommended.
I’m asking a different question:
If the government relies on consumer choice as part of the justification for mandatory fortification, shouldn’t that choice actually be simple, obvious and practical?
Because buying a packet prominently labelled WHOLEMEAL BREAD and then discovering FOLIC ACID in its ingredients demonstrates rather neatly why saying “people can choose wholemeal” isn’t an adequate answer.
And before somebody says “well, just read the ingredients” — that’s precisely the point.
If opting out requires checking the small print of every loaf, cake, pie, sauce, breadcrumb coating and processed product you buy, that is very different from the impression created by saying consumers remain free to choose wholemeal products instead.
This packet is a perfect example.
I chose wholemeal.
I still got folic acid.
So where, exactly, is the simple choice we were promised?
@Tesco

Angela Rayner’s department has launched an investigation after admitting that it deleted all responses to the Islamophobia definition consultation.
This is a truly shocking admission. Not only does it appear to breach the Government’s own data policy — which requires data to be retained for at least two years, and for 20 years if it is of historical importance — it raises serious questions about what the department is trying to hide.
Did extremists have the opportunity to influence the drafting of the Islamophobia definition? All the arrows point in that direction.
Will Garton, the chief civil servant at MHCLG, has finally written to the Shadow Justice Secretary confirming that “further work” will be undertaken to investigate these concerns and provide a comprehensive response.
Mr Garton also said that ministers were not involved in the decision to delete the consultation responses. But if ministers did not instruct officials to delete them, who on earth did?
The definition has already been weaponised to silence legitimate criticism of Islam, its practices and its history.
Angela Rayner has some serious questions to answer. She must come clean to the British public.

Joshua Hindle, 30, who brutally attacked and strangled a woman in her home inflicting cuts, bruises and bite marks on her face, has walked free.
The woman had asked Hindle to leave her property, he took her phone, smashed her phone against a wall and then attacked her.
Defence said had a "good work ethic and was low risk of reoffending".
In her victim impact statement, the woman said she can no longer trust anyone, feels vulnerable in her own home, and it no longer feels safe.
Recorder Kenderik Horne handed Hindle a 16-month prison sentence suspended for two years, 25 "rehab days" & just a 10 year restraining order.
🇬🇧 There's no justice in the UK.
Absolutely sickening.
STATEMENT about my local resident Del Somerville who pled guilty to violent disorder at a local protest.
Firstly I want to say I condemn any violent behaviour towards anyone. It’s never acceptable and never the answer.
Del from Paulsgrove in Portsmouth, where I’m the elected Cllr for, has just received a 2 year prison sentence. To be clear he plead guilty. The report states he ‘pushed through a police corden’, and he ‘swore’ and he ‘threw a plastic bottle into the air towards a police line’.
Now if you break the law that should have consequences but this is where I have the problem…
In handing down the two-year sentence, the judge explicitly stated that the punishment was intended to act as a stark deterrent to others participating in subsequent regional protests.
I’m sorry but the law should be applied evenly and fairly. Del being made example of means his sentence is disproportionately worse in comparison to what others would have received in a comparable situation, outside of a protest. That is wrong.
We’ve seen violent assault convictions handed out with suspended prison sentences but then this one gets 2 years and is rushed through a process that took a few weeks.
We shouldn’t be ‘setting examples to deter others’. We should be applying the law fairly.
This is a reminder that if you are attending any protest to always remain calm a peaceful. One slightly poor emotional response can change your life forever.
This system isn’t fair and it needs to be. One rule for one, one rule for another. It’s wrong.
If you are British and you Slash an illegal disused boat get remanded
If you are a migrant you can rape English children & get bail

Ben McBean lost an arm and a leg fighting for Britain in Afghanistan after stepping on a Taliban landmine, aged just 20. Now, as a veteran who knows the horrors of war, he is speaking out against the prospect of Britain being dragged into a war with Russia.
He argues that while Britain fails to control illegal crossings of its own borders, including people who are openly hostile to Britain, we should not be sending our people to fight Russia. We should stay at home and defend our families, our communities and our own country.
Unlike people such as Jacob Rees-Mogg, Boris Johnson and Andy Burnham, who will never see a frontline in their entire lives, but are happy to talk about sending British troops, veterans and potentially conscripted citizens to war, Ben actually knows the harsh reality of war.
Ben also speaks proudly about being British. He recognises the White English as the native people of England, while making the equally important point that you can be British and black or brown. It does not make you any less patriotic. He refuses to be dragged into the latest divisive psyop designed to turn people against each other.
Incredibly, just a year after losing two limbs, he completed the London Marathon on a prosthetic leg, raising money for Help for Heroes. He ran it again the following year, has trekked to Everest Base Camp, completed the Three Peaks Challenge and raised money for veterans and other charities.
What an absolutely brilliant and inspiring man @benmcbean is. Smashing through the manufactured narratives, psyops and lies by speaking the truth about the needless war that our corrupt government now wants us to fight.
We now live in a country that gives a man two years in prison for throwing a plastic water bottle and swearing at police,
And gives a migrant Deliveroo driver that brutally raped a pregnant woman causing a miscarriage to 12 MONTHS in prison.
Fucked isn’t the word.
