Keep parkrun out of any debates about gender it is not relevant. All are welcome at parkrun, which includes kids & babes in buggies

I needed a wee 🚽

I couldn’t find the toilet because…..

There were NO SIGNS ON THE DOORS ‼️

I heard a toilet flush so I was reassured I was in the right place. 😅

All three cubicles were occupied so I waited 👌

A woman joined the queue behind me and then so did a MAN 😱

Good news - I did not get assaulted 👍

Then the first cubicle door opened and a man walked out 😬

He did not have anything on show 🍆

I went to the toilet and it was clean and tidy (not like they are in the UK) 🇩🇰

When I had finished I went to wash my hands and……

A MAN was washing his hands too!!!!🚰

We just washed our hands. Nothing to see here.
All good.
No drama.

The thing that gets me most in all this is men on Twitter telling me it’s just to protect grassroots women’s football. I am one of those cis women who plays in grassroots football. I don’t want your protection! I don’t need it! Let me talk for myself, I love my trans teammates.

@WomensRightsNet @BBCNews There’s a recruitment crisis. It’s just not as simple as training more female radiographers. Unless NHS staff are paid better & work conditions improve, recruitment will remain an issue.
Personally I don’t care who scans my boobs as long as they’re competent.

@derlor1 @1985_LG @AramintaKane @WomensRightsNet @BBCNews A radiographer is a specialist in imaging. They do a 3 year degree. Just as a nurse does a degree in nursing. The reporting is done by an advanced practice radiographer or a doctor (radiologist).
And even if we could train nurses… there’s a shortage of nurses too!

This ruling sets a dangerous precedent and erases trans women from protections. It puts trans rights back 20 years.

parkrun is not a race & therefore it doesn’t matter about others times/genders

I think the best thing that can happen is published results are removed. People are emailed their own time only. Then there’s absolutely no confusion about it being a race.

@marksandspencer I am aware of the process thank you. But on the local Facebook groups it’s clear that many local people are not clear & have been fined. Please make it MUCH MUCH clearer instore. People are missing step 2!

@marksandspencer please get your Foodhall store at Stockport Peel centre to properly explain how the free car parking works. Numerous people being fined as they don’t know they need to use regular car park machine AFTER the one in your store. Thanks

And they are not men, they are trans women. Please respect their identity.

Your campaigning will result in parkrun totally removing results. So be prepared for it and don’t moan when that happens

@rowingdonna @mara_yamauchi This is beyond ridiculous. @parkrunUK is not a competitive event or a race. Therefore it is no matter what gender or age the other people are who are completing the 5km route. People don’t even register with real names. Focus on something more important!
