@MrBenWasTheBest @domdyer70 Maybe a little bit. But I'm not a police expert. What's for certain is that even with training they wouldn't have been able to deal with the dog without handling equipment. I wouldn't split up a unknown dog fight without a catch pole at least.

@MarymoBelfast @domdyer70 No worries, as a person who works with animals it is tough to see one treated this way but I can understand the actions taken. They had no specialist equipment to get the dog off the other one so would have been bitten themselves if they had tried any other way.

@MarymoBelfast @domdyer70 Tranquillisers require more consideration than most people think. Give them the wrong dose and they don't go to sleep or they go to sleep forever. The general police wouldn't have the equipment to do this as it requires a gun. Using this method in zoos is difficult and licensed.
