During the Kargil War, Captain Vikram Batra led his company in the successful capture of Point 5140, where he displayed exceptional courage by neutralising four enemy soldiers in hand-to-hand combat.

In the subsequent assault on Point 4875, he led from the front despite intense enemy fire, eliminated five enemy soldiers at point-blank range and continued to inspire his troops even after sustaining grievous injuries, leading to the capture of the objective.

For his most conspicuous bravery, indomitable courage and supreme sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, #PVC.

On 06 Jul 2026, based on specific intelligence input, a Search Operation was launched by #IndianArmy in the general area Keran Sector, Kupwara.

During search, security forces busted a hideout and recovered five AK Series Rifles, nine AK magazines, one Hand Grenade, a huge cache of ammunition and other war-like stores.

Gazetted or temporary is a technical distinction. The bigger question is why there are so few new government vacancies being advertised while public work is increasingly routed through private companies. In a region with high unemployment, that's a legitimate concern.

A temporary post cannot be called a gazetted post! The very document you shared clearly states these are temporary posts! A post becomes gazetted only after the government formally appoints the officer and publishes the officer’s name with designation!

The 8th Pay Commission should not be viewed only through the lens of Govt expenditure. Higher salaries mean higher spending, stronger local markets, increased demand, and economic activity. A balanced analysis must account for both fiscal costs and economic gains.
