Moral agency is one of life’s greatest gifts from our loving Heavenly Father. The “For the Strength of Youth” guide gives our rising generation guidance on how to use their moral agency and how to make wise choices as they seek to follow Jesus Christ.

Often parents and leaders direct their youth to the FSY guide to help them with their choices, and I am extremely grateful for this effort. I also want remind each of us that it is vital for parents, adults, and leaders to read the guide and speak with our rising generation about the content.

Whenever I read the FSY guide, I am lifted up spiritually and strengthened by the inspired principles and counsel included. How I wish I had something like this when I was growing up. Now I am grateful to be blessed by it as an adult, a grandfather and great-grandfather.

“For the Strength of Youth” teaches eternal truths about the Savior and His way. It helps us to make the right choices based on divine truths. It shares promised blessings that Heavenly Father extends to all who desire to follow Him. I invite you to read, ponder, apply, and share this precious guide!

My dear sisters, I was grateful to speak with you today at the Worldwide Relief Society Devotional. You are often on my mind. I am deeply grateful for you and feel indebted to you. So much of the good The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accomplishes and so much of the good that happens in the world takes place because of you. 

Thank you for your devotion to the Lord as well as your efforts to ennoble others. I know how much the Lord loves you and depends upon you. I marvel at your faith and sensitivity to things of the Spirit. I'm inspired by your diligence, dynamic leadership, and your ability to see a need and meet it. Whether it be illiteracy, malnutrition, mental health concerns, or the day-to-day needs of others, you tackle real life issues with a rare combination of skill, compassion, insight, and love. The entire mission of the Lord's church is strengthened by you.

Throughout the ongoing Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, emergent technologies have contributed to His work reaching out across the world.

In a meeting yesterday with employees of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we discussed continuing developments in, and guiding principles for, generative artificial intelligence (AI).

I suggested we be measured, balanced, and realistic in our assessments of opportunity and caution, that is, neither giddy nor alarmist.

To me, while generative AI may be quick to offer information, it cannot replace revelation or generate truth from God. In the Church, we have a significant responsibility to ensure the Holy Ghost can attest to the truth and authenticity of what we say and share both in form and content.

Overall, I am optimistic about our ability to use these AI technologies wisely and effectively, including as we seek to protect Church members and friends from deep fake deceit or falsehoods.
