Thank you to everyone who has been part of 25 years of @ESPNNewYork ❤️
We can’t wait for the next 25.
As we sit today, the Knicks are still my favorite to come out of the East until proven otherwise.
All NBA fans can only dream of a 76ers vs. Knicks Eastern Conference Finals. That will be must see TV! 🍿
“I think them winning the championship, has cemented them as Americas team. This team, is Americas team…. I never thought I would say a New York City team could be Americas team, I think this Knick team, feels like America”
— @RealJayWilliams on the Knicks
I think it's time we all recognize the NBA has a great creative team and writers. Wow. What a story! Texas heels rout hometown heroes in the 1st half at the World's Most Famous Arena (@TheGarden ), only for the babyfaces to perform the greatest comeback EVER! My compliments!
In 1989, I thought we had a chance to win the NBA championship after going 4-0 vs the Bad Boys. MJ put an end to that dream. Then in 1999 the Knicks caught lightning in a bottle but lost to the Spurs. I was a Jr at UMass when the last championship was won. This team gets it done. It's time. Deep & talented group with a great attitude. The Moët is on ice. Go NY, Go NY, Go!
I am so incredibly happy for Knicks fans.
1994 was one of the most gut-wrenching Finals losses in NBA history.
Not getting back again until 1999, when Ewing had a torn Achilles and they were close to drawing dead to the Duncan-Robinson Spurs was a different type of cruelty.
And somehow never truly coming close in any season since then should have just been unfathomable. Instead, it was entirely predictable and at various times they were a national punch line.
To turn this season around from what it seemed like it was going to be (another promising but inevitably disappointing season), into what it became (the single most dominant month of playoff basketball from a margin of victory standpoint in the history of the NBA), is truly remarkable.
I am picking the Knicks in the Finals but more importantly I’ll be rooting for the Knicks in the Finals.
The NYC hoops fans deserve this moment.
My son's ripping packs with his buddy before going to practice and I hear him yell, "Nice! Fernandooooooooo!!!"
From my office I excitedly interject: "Valenzuela?!?"
Response? "What?? No, Tatis!"
Me...to myself: "You're old bro."
They could be staring at a screen. Nope. Win!
