If the A’s “never recovered” from not getting a new yard, then attendance wasn’t just about fans being soft. It was stadium, ownership, politics, and trust. That’s my whole point. The city had faults, but fans didn’t gut rosters, neglect the Coliseum, poison trust, or choose Vegas. Turning shared institutional failure into “fans deserved it” isn’t sound logic.
