@AmpCode@sqs mac app suddenly logged me out and it fails to log-in. I authenticate within the browser, then I click the oauth link, it opens amp but it doesn't log-in. Was working like an hour ago
@vimtor@thdxr@opencode q for yall: is it free on OpenCode as a harness, or as an inference API, or for OpenCode Go subs? The "models" list on the console doesn't match the "models" section on the documentation for OpenCode Go
@tobi I am one of those. I’ve got into the ecosystem 8+ years ago, worked on various projects you definitely know about and along the way I got at least 6 friends into it as well. Mixed feelings about it, grateful for all the good things, worry about being over-specialized
882 tok/s prefill on M5 Max for Qwen3.8-27B, with uzu.
Compared to Splash:
prefill: 1.83x faster
time to first token: 1.81x faster
generation: 1.05x faster
Measured on MT-Bench, MATH-500 and HumanEval.
@matvelloso tbf both assumptions are crazy claude won't stay $200/mo for 8 years, and even though smaller models will get smarter and smarter, the industry appears to constantly move into new quantization formats
@gilgNYC Gil, do you have an interview/blog post/article of how Checkout Blocks came to be? I am building something and I’d be curious to
know how was your process
Starting today I will be trying to answer the question: is it easier to find a job or to raise a U$80k in pre-seed funding without an MVP but with a great idea.
I am counting today as day 1 but technically I started working on the pitch and pitch deck yesterday at 8pm.
@potetm Hell yeah! I think it might work! I didn’t exactly get funding, but I did get a very promising meeting with a possible co-founder capable of bankrolling the whole thing and valuable skills for making the idea successful
I am now going to bed, so far I've sent pitches for 4 Angel investors, and tried to connect with a handful of others.
No job applications sent yet but I've found quite a few good candidates, just need to update my resume.
And I already have a couple interviews scheduled, one of which I am very confident about. It will be a pay cut, but I will still have a decent salary, so I can’t complain too much!
Getting older is actually pretty nice, ngl.
There’s a thrill in experiencing cool things for the first time, and I love this part of being young, but the awesome part of getting older is that as you experience negative things, you learn more about yourself and the world
Coincidentally, just like the last time, I was in the middle of searching for a new apartment, and I was about to sign a place that was pretty expensive, had I been laid-off a day later I’d be royally fucked.
But it didn’t, so I am grateful for that too
Funny how things happen, I went from being promoted to a leadership position after receiving glowing reviews for my performance to being laid-off in less than a month, and having had only 4 working days between both things happening.
