Hey future me in 3 years from now, quote me when we are finally at the top where we dream to be.
How is it like being at the top?
Did we finally relocate to Dubai?
You must be very happy being at the top… Tell me how the journey went.
That’s why I call it “Content systems” and not just content… The Last check before it ships.
If your team’s genuinely good and stuff still slips through anyway… that’s not a people problem… Neither a talent problem… It’s a missing stage… The one sitting between “everyone did their job” and “it actually works”
That’s the stage I’m in…
I don’t post logos or name clients to back any of this up. And I’m Not going to start either… That’s not modesty, it’s just a deal I made… their content, their business, their risk, their privacy.
I hold that even when I know that dropping a name would make this thread land ten times harder.
What actually proves any of this isn’t a client list. It’s whether those five things I just walked through sound true or not… about your content, specifically, right now.
Honestly the problem I will say is “reputation”…
There is this perception that African founders are more interested in their own pockets than actually solving anything for the people around them…
And whether that is fair or not… that perception is what walks into the room before you even do…
So you can have the best product… real users… real numbers… and the investor is still sitting there wondering if you are going to disappear with the money…
Meanwhile someone in another country with a deck and a dream gets $40M because the investor already trusts the environment they are building in…
The problem is never even about the idea or the pitch… because I have seen so many people say “Africans don’t know how to pitch” but it is never about that…
It is the reputation of the continent that every African founder carries whether they earned it or not…
And that is the most unfair part of all of this…
Why is raising funds in Africa harder than another country?
You can have a working and amazing project with result and get nothing while they have a demo with pitch deck and raise $40M..
What’s actually the problem?
