@TheZodiacHeir Eating fried chicken and watermelon is normal in DR no one thinks anything of this nor do they see it as a “Black” thing. The average Dominican would be dumbfounded.

DR has its own racist stereotypes related to foods and watermelon and fried chicken are not some of those foods.

This is a stretch the stereotype of “black people liking watermelon” is not widely known amongst Dominican islanders. In DR, watermelon is just seen as another fruit not one that has any callback to its Black population or a foreign one.

He asked him why watermelon because he wanted him to try local exotic fruits not something common like watermelon just as he wanted him to try Dominican food and not KFC moments prior to this. That is the context of the question.

Second, there was another instance where Speed received an image from a boy where he had big lips. That was not a blackface edit as it’s been claimed here it’s from when Speed did the “Kylie Jenner Challenge”. If you’ve seen his streams it’s a thing for his fans to ragebait Speed to create comical overreactions. Moments prior another fan gave him a picture of him kissing a man to ragebait. In another island a kid called him “iShowMeat” in order to ragebait him.

The stream itself was mostly fine outside of the language barrier and Alofoke’s awkwardness and Speed REALLY enjoyed DR. The narrative is that the stream was “trash” when that wasn’t really Speed’s perception while there. In fact it was likely one of his favorites and his cameraman still says they will return.

It was the botting controversy afterwards that ruined it plus Alofoke’s actions having his mural removed and delving into egoism and tribalism.

The actual stream itself gave Speed an authentic Dominican experience from playing vitilla with David Ortiz, to recording a dembow, to going to Boca Chica, to having a home cooked meal in a real urban heavily Afro-Dominican neighborhood.

This sounds empowering but there is no data that supports this. Successful women marry at high rates, stay married longer and are less impacted by divorce rates. The idea that successful women don’t need men isn’t actual ideals that most successful women live by, it’s usually middle & low income women with that philosophy.

Also, relationships were never about need in the first place. They’ve always been about building something bigger together. Being okay single is healthy. Believing partnership adds no value is something else entirely.
