This International Women's Day, we want to #InspireInclusion by highlighting the issues our industry is still facing.

While more women may slowly be entering the engineering workforce, research has found that they are leaving the profession at twice the rate of men. Why?

Finally, let's think about how many women are in leadership roles. Again, this is another area that's getting better but women still make up less than 20% of senior positions in construction. We must do better at providing opportunities and helping women in engineering grow.

The @UKGBC's latest report shows that the UK built environment is not on track to meet its emission targets.

Built environment emissions have decreased by 13% since 2018. But that's still 6% short which is pretty significant.

@UKGBC And while operational carbon emissions have almost met the target, embodied carbon emissions fell by just 4% - 17% was the target.

Achieving #NetZero is a challenge we all need to participate in.
