Really hoped this was sarcasm but I guess some people like torture. At least letting us configure whether we want it would have been better than forcing this on to the rest of us.

GPT 5.5 no longer following instructions, finding shortcuts to complete goals early and Codex Desktop app abysmal performance is sad to see what used to be a great experience go downhill so quickly.
not having a good experience with Codex Desktop since the last update. Somehow it's gotten bricked after i tried pasting in text, the screen is now a blank white screen for like 10 minutes before it renders in content then after that it is frozen indefinitely. Even tried reinstalling and that didn't help either. I really don't want to have to go back to using Slopus but the performance of Codex Desktop is just unbearable.
Who decided it is a good idea to create unnecessary friction now when pasting long text in the Codex app? is there a config to disable this? Super annoying

Codex/GPT 5.4 or 5.5 used to be so good at threading a fix/feature to make sure all surfaces were covered. Recently, these models are more akin to Slopus unfortunately.
@leeschmidt123@paulg Your analogy just doesn't work so can't blame him for that. In the app clearly you can tell whether you are being forced to answer before proceeding, so the analogy is irrelevant anyway.
gpt 5.5 feels dumber since the last weekend. I'm hoping it's just my expectations. It's just been super lazy and unwilling to do things. Only thing that has helped the most is setting a goal.
