Kinondo Walk Movement, with support from Haki Centre, held an energizing 11km Walk on Saturday, 6th September 2025 as part of the build-up activities towards Identity Day on 16th September 2025.

By supporting stateless communities like the Makonde and Pemba to gain citizenship, he recalled the symbolic Trek to State House in 2016,and lauded Kwale Human Rights Network Coordinator George Jaramba who was present for being part of the historical legacy.
Other speakers from Haki Centre were engaged on the process of getting Identity Cards with members lamenting as a tedious journey.
Convenor of Kinondo Walk Movement Mahmoud Barrow reflected on the historic role of Haki Centre, the Kenya Human Rights Commission, and others.
During the session, Hemed Mwafujo (Haki Centre & Chair of Kinondo Walk Movement) highlighted the importance of identity, inclusion, protection, and empowerment. He reminded participants of the global campaign under SDG 16.9 to ensure legal identity for all by 2030.
Flag-off took place at the usual Kona Muhaka at 6:15am, bringing together 50 walkers. The route covered Mwabungo–Mwalubemba–Mvindeni–Kona ya Musa, with a stopover at Babla Ground Ukunda for short energizing exercises and awareness session.
